Skin Care / Facial FAQ's
At Smiley Skin, our radiant skin care facial services are exclusively designed for ages 16 and older.
- Stop using exfoliants (scrubs, Vitamin A, Retinoids, AHAs, BHAs) for atleast 5-7 days
- No facial waxing within 5-7 days
- Wait 3 weeks after receiving Botox or Filler injections
- Reschedule your appointment if you have a cold sore, open lesion or a sunburn in the treatment area
- Make sure to schedule your facial prior to your next lash fill
- Aim to arrive to your appointment with minimal to zero makeup
- Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours
- Avoid hot water, saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours
- Avoid vigorous physical activity for 24-48 hours
- SPF 30+ must be applied daily to the treated area for a minimum of two weeks.
- Wait 48-72 hours before applying active ingredients to prevent skin irritation.
- Do not rub, scratch or pick at your skin. Absolutely do not peel your skin after a chemical peel. This WILL cause damage and compromise your results as well as possibly cause severe scarring.
In the event that you have additional questions or concerns regarding your treatment or suggested home care, please consult your therapist immediately.

Steph did a fantastic job with welcoming me into her space from the first moment I entered. The studio is so cute and the treatment room is cozy and peaceful. I had a wonderful facial, with an added lip mask and LED light treatment (thank you, Steph!!). I’ve been worried about how dry my skin will be this winter, but I’m really happy with the whole experience, the recommendations, and the products I ended up picking up from her.
