Spray Tanning

We will discuss your tanning preference at the studio! We need to be able to assess your skin in person, so we can custom blend your tan specifically for you!

Our spray tan will last approximately 5-10 days, depending on your skin’s cell turnover rate and the condition of your skin before & after the spray tan treatment. You are able to extend the life of your tan with Tan Extenders – ask your technician about them. We’ve seen some tans last much longer when using a tan extender!

Make sure to moisturize 1-2 times a day to help your tan stay hydrated; also when your tan starts to fade, moisturizing helps it to fade more naturally. We don’t want you looking like a speckled cheetah!

Avoid the following as much as possible – ocean, hot tubs, swimming pools, exercise/sweating, and perfume/body sprays, rubbing your skin with your hands or a towel. Make sure to drink water! 

Not a problem. Let us know when you arrive at your appointment (before we spray you!). We will have you purchase a pre-tan exfoliating & pH balancing wipe to use right before your tan.

What About Shaving & Waxing?

Prior to your tanning session, please shave 24 hours before. If you are waxing, it is recommended to do so 48 hours prior. 

After your tan, please wait the full 24 hours so your tan has time to process before you shave again. We have a special tan-safe shaving gel in the studio available for purchase. Please make sure not to wax until you are ready to say goodbye to your tan. 

Ideally you want to tan two days prior to your event. This will ensure your full color develops for your event and gives us an extra day to fix any mishaps just in case! If your event is on a Saturday, your best day to tan is Thursday.

We do offer free touch ups on your custom airbrush tan within 24 hours after your scheduled appointment. Sometimes things happen – Let us fix it for you at no charge!

AFTER your first rinse, if there is an issue please contact us. Please text us details within 24 hours from your appointment. We will follow up with available time slots to fix your tan.

Spray tanning is accomplished by spray application of a solution containing the active ingredient: DHA (Dihydroxyacetone). DHA is FDA approved and considered to be safe if you follow guidelines to protect exposure to the eyes, lips, internal and mucous membranes.

All of the components of the spray tanning solution have been safely used in cosmetics for decades. Many of our ingredients are organic and natural, they are gluten free, non-toxic, vegan and cruelty free. Pregnant and breastfeeding Moms should feel confident using our products. If you have questions, please discuss this with your licensed professional and/or tanning artist before proceeding. 

Warning: Spray tanning products do not contain a sunscre

We prefer you wait until you are in your second trimester before spray tanning.

If you are breastfeeding, we recommend you to get a rapid solution. It is advised to use a sticky bra, nipple covers or we can avoid spraying your chest area. Another option, you can simply wipe the area with a baby wipe after your session to remove the tan from any area the baby will put in their mouth.

Facial spraying is 100% up to the client. It provides the most even coverage from head to toe, however the FDA suggests avoiding any mucus membrane areas, like eyes and lips. If you choose to get your face sprayed, we recommend that you hold your breath during facial spraying and wipe off the lips and eyes upon completion of the service. 

If you have a history of asthma or other respiratory or medical conditions that could be aggravated by the use of the spray tanning system, or cannot hold your breath for more than 3 seconds, please consult a licensed professional before proceeding

The initial bronzers in the spray tan solution is makeup and may transfer to clothing or fabric. The bronzers are water-soluble and will wash out of most fabrics. DHA, the ingredient that tans you, can react with white elastic.  It is advised to wash the undergarment or clothing worn as soon as possible after your session. 

It is always best to wear DARK & LOOSE-fitting clothing, open-toed shoes or flip flops for your tan!

If you get a long-wear tan, we advise you for the first night to sleep in baggy long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

Yes! However, do not workout or sweat within the first 24 hours of getting a spray tan. Remember that activity can reduce the life of your tan.

When working out, try to wear loose fitting clothing that won’t rub your skin. Tight clothing, like sports bras are notorious for creating tan lines.

Sometimes the cosmetic bronzer looks smudged when we get a tan and may appear imperfect. Everyone makes mistakes, and there’s things we cannot avoid, like a rain storm!

Wait until after your first rinse to assess the situation. If you have any concerns, please review our Touch Up Policy and contact us within 24 hours from your tan.

Tip: Opt to purchase tan extender from our studio, so you can fix your tan at home and extend the life of your tan!

Yes you can! Please make sure to let us know that you are tanning for your wedding or an upcoming event where you will be wearing white.

Book a CLEAR TAN appointment. Our clear solution prevents any bronzers from rubbing off onto your dress/outfit. We HIGHLY advise you to have 1-2 soap showers prior to putting on white.

Post-event/wedding, we recommend you have your outfit dry cleaned.
